Star38

Star38 was not the first commercial Caller ID spoofing service, but it was the first service that received mass marketing. Star38 was launched on September 1, 2004 and received media coverage from newspapers across the United States, such as the USA Today.

What Happened To Star38?

An individual named Jason Jepson created Star38 and within a few weeks of Star38’s launch, Jepson announced he was selling the service because he had received death threats over the service. Within a few months Star38 had already shut down and relaunched again with a new website.

By 2006 Star38 had completely shut down and stopped offering its Caller ID spoofing services. For a while during 2006, Star38.com was redirecting to CIA.gov and Razortel.com.
